Located to the left of the river Taro along the “fondavalle” road, it reaches the left bank of the Ceno river through the valley of the Pessola river, landmark of the lowest valley of Taro. There is a train station and two important roads: the local one named “fondovalle” and the transregional one called “Autocisa”. It shares its industrial center with the close village of Rubbiano: there are companies operating mainly in the field of building materials, drilling and food sector (important plant of Barilla group). In Solignano it’s located the Astaldi headquarter concerning the completion of the railway line Pontremolese.
