Located in the small mountain village of Bosco di Corniglio, in the beautiful Val Parma, Bosco di Corniglio Castle is part of the area's historic heritage.
Surrounded by forests and mountain landscapes, the site recalls the medieval history of the Parma Apennines and the importance of fortified settlements in protecting local communities and routes through the valleys.
Bosco di Corniglio is also an excellent starting point for discovering the natural beauty of the area, including Lagdei, Lago Santo Parmense and the surrounding mountain trails.
Today, only sections of the original walls and part of the tower remain. These evocative ruins offer a glimpse into the castle's past and its connection with the powerful Rossi family, which controlled much of the territory during the Middle Ages.
Location: Bosco di Corniglio, 43021 Corniglio (Parma), Italy
What to see: Medieval ruins, remains of the defensive tower and panoramic views over Val Parma.
Please note: The castle is a ruin rather than a restored building, so visitors should take care when approaching the site.
